Marine Cable Work History:
Marine Cable Lay Watch Tester - Overall Responsibility
A main expectation of the Alcatel-Lucent Project Managers in Paris is not only that the Contract Technical Staff are proficient in their technical field, but more importantly, are reliable and self-motivated to take as much responsibility for anything they can do to save time and anticipate problems using their own initiative, only leaving major technical and financial decisions to be decided by Senior staff. This is paramount as often a penalty clause system exists when a Project overruns the agreed time scales, which can run into many thousands of dollars in fees. A system of expenses exists so Field Staff can purchase equipment or labour locally as required and so “minor” technical or other issues can be resolved locally as quickly as possible.
