Semi-retired, former BT and Alcatel Telecoms and IT Networks Technician looking for full or part-time Remote IT, Level 1 Tech Support roles. Over 30 years’ experience in IT, data network installations, international subsea optical fibre backbone SDH (DWDM) systems installation, testing and IT Tech Support. In June 2025 I refreshed my IT skills on the Coursera Google IT Support course. I am currently studying for the COMPTIA Network+ exam while on holiday in Cali, Colombia to refresh my Computer Networks FdSc networking degree knowledge and bring me up to 2026 network technology standards. I also run a technical webpage at stevepedwards.today that documents most of my technical knowledge from IT topics to electronics projects that have interested me over the decades. I have been a Linux hobbyist for over 20 years. I intend to return to the UK by February 2026 to take the COMPTIA Network Plus exam and hope to continue in a Network Technical Support or IT hardware installation environment, with a view to studying the CCNA exam at a later date.
I run Server 2022, Win11, and Win10 in Hyper-V, with Ubuntu in WSL2 for my studies.
