Lost track of definitive faults (lost channel, low volume) fixes - it's had the 3120A power amp from the 84o installed, the M5219 tone/buffer amps replaced by LM328s and after removal of AN6554 phase amp and damaging tracks, I managed to install a 7 pin chip holder here, then got full signal in/out all 4 amps after - which I didn't have before!
Distortion- starts after -6dB. It has Xover distortion on the outputs, but not noticeable:

44V/2 = 22V^2 / 8 ohm =- 484 / 8 ohm = 60.5W per channel !
This must be due to the 50W 3120A from the sux840.
The Surround Sound button works - looks like this - but is a phase shifted channel waveform from the AN6554 pre amp; psycho-acoustics:
